Hello! I’m Kelly O’toole. I grew up on a farm in Eastern Oregon. We had the usual cows, chickens, dogs, and cats and everything that came with them. When things broke or wore out it was necessary to be able to repair them on your own because the nearest town was a long drive away, and what you might need probably wasn’t in stock anyway. The list of things that could break was pretty large and wasn’t just limited to fences and doors on the chicken coop. The oven door handle came loose once and my father went out to the shop, found a screw and bolt that would hold it on until he could get into town the next week and get a new handle. Another time the cap to the toothpaste went down the sink drain. I watched Dad remove the trap from the sink, extract the cap, and put everything back together. Of course, the cap got thoroughly washed before it was put back on the tube of toothpaste. Thus I learned both practical and creative ways to solve problems.

Later on I worked in property maintenance, repairing appliances and plumbing fixtures, painting, and repairing cabinets and drywall. Then I became self-employed in the flooring and construction industry installing Marmoleum, tile, and carpet.

Today I enjoy being a Jack-of-all-trades. Every day is different and I meet new people with different problems I can solve.
